Vitaliy Sazonets is a dynamic addition to the VIDA coaching team, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in figure skating. Coming to Austin by way of New York City, Vitaliy has been coaching since 2016, where he has made a significant impact on the skating community. Before moving to the United States, he skated professionally with Royal Caribbean cruise lines from 2011, showcasing his talent on stages at sea around the world.
Vitaliy holds a degree in Physical Education, which complements his coaching specialties in jumps and harness training, off-ice conditioning, skating skills, spins, and ballet.
As a former competitive skater, Vitaliy brings first-hand knowledge of the sport's demands. He was the 2007 Ukrainian National Champion in Men’s Singles and represented Ukraine in prestigious international competitions, including the European Championships and the Junior Grand Prix series. Additionally, he was an alternate for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, training under renowned Ukrainian Olympic coaches Marina Amirkhanova and Vyatcheslav Tkachenko.
With a passion for mentoring the next generation of skaters, Vitaliy is excited to share his skills and insights with his students. His commitment to excellence and his engaging coaching style make him a valuable asset to the VIDA coaching team.
